Spring trip to Munich – registration started!

Bavaria is awaiting us! During the semester break, we are organising an excursion to the Bavarian capital. In and around Munich, we will once again gain insights into companies in the transport sector that are opening their doors to us in the familiar fashion.

Due to many individual travel plans during the semester break, our excursion will not start in Dresden. The meeting point is at Munich Central Station on Monday at around 2 p.m. First, we will visit the DUSS Terminal Munich. This is where containers and other goods are handled in combined transport. Due to its location on the north-south axis, the terminal plays an important role in transport across the Alps.

On Tuesday, we will take a look at one of the most modern train factories in Europe. At the Siemens Mobility headquarters in Munich-Allach, locomotives and passenger coaches go through production, assembly and testing.

On Wednesday, we will take a trip to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. An optional surprise programme at 2,962 metres is still being planned (may incur an additional charge).

Finally, on Thursday, we will visit the Munich Central Station control tower. A track plan interlocking operates in the iconic building at Hackerbrücke. From three control desks, the traffic controllers oversee the activities on the station grounds. Afterwards, participants can make their own way home.

Travel period: 9 to 12 March 2026

Participation fee: €100. This includes three nights’ accommodation in a hotel in Munich, including breakfast. You must organise your own travel to and from Munich. Please do not book your trains to and from Munich until you have received confirmation of participation from us. Meeting points are still subject to change!

Registration by 23 January 2026 by email to exkursion@verkehrte-welt.org. The number of participants is limited!

Membership in the association Verkehrte Welt e.V. is not required to participate.
